2018: Shyampur School

We have successfully completed this project!

West Bengal, India
Completed

$13,000 one time contribution

Dear All,

This January, I visited Bansberia in the suburbs of Kolkota, India, where over the years we have funded construction of schools, orphanages, health care centers and toilets. I visited another primary school nearby with 117 children in grades 1 to 4 which is in a very dilapidated state. The school has been running since 2000 and is currently govt funded. However, the school has no toilets, the walls and floor are not cemented, the doors and windows have deteriorated, the classroom has little furniture and is very cramped. Seeing the kids in the school, so eager to get an education, I really felt that we can help create a better environment for them.

Our plan is to cement the mud floors and walls, construct toilets for boys and girls, build a second floor for extra classrooms and provide classroom furniture. The estimate for the construction is $13,000. Please join me in this effort to provide a better environment for these children.
